  • Lifetime Supply

Wally Tens had never been to prison. He sat behind the wheel of his purring Dragonsilk coupe, squeezing the luxuriously padded grips in time with his laboured breathing. His three-sided coin dug into his right palm where he held it for luck. Wally tried not to hyperventilate as he stared at the pool of golden…

  • Mystery Man

“Exorcisms are completely safe for everyone involved, most of the time.” M. Silver smoothed her already-flat eyebrow. “You are, of course, sanctioned by the church of Soul?” “No,” he said. He washed his hands with blessed water from his holy canteen, plain cylindrical metal stamped with the god’s sign. He set it down beside his…

  • Brigadier’s Case Files: Psychic

This month’s short story is not quite an epilogue to Ravenshore’s Antimagic despite happening immediately after. Why the stone?” The tavernmaster held the egg-rock up to his eye. “This,” he said dramatically through…

  • The Outrider

Today I’m posting a work-in-progress. Not because I’m lazy and it’s not done (or at least not only), but to show a bit of progress when it’s eventually updated. Hopefully I’ll remember to link back to this when that happens. The point is, I already have notes on some changes I want to make to…

  • The Nightmare Report

One year ago, in a single moment, eleven dreamwalkers were murdered by a nightmare monster. The archmage slew the beast and saved the city. At least that’s the official story. I’ve spent this past year year investigating, interviewing, and gathering evidence to uncover a more elusive and disturbing truth. In the press conference after the…
